Need Help Finding a Reputable Dealership? So you are finding that it is the time to get a new car. Not only do you need to consider what type of car will best suit your needs, but you also need to make sure you have a good experience therefore you’ll want to find a trustworthy car dealership. I’ve read that it is just as important to take as much time researching a dealership and finding the right one as you do researching what type of car you are looking for. Although this struck me as odd upon first reading it, as I pondered this, I would tend to agree. Buying a car is a big investment, and something you don’t want to take lightly so you want to make sure and do your homework in preparation.

If you are anything like me, you are pausing here a little because every experience you have had at a dealership has been interesting to say the least. You go simply wanting to take a look around and get sucked into their high pressure sales tactics, and wind up at the dealership for a couple hours because each time you try to politely leave they keep reeling you in. However, you are in luck because as of late, a lot of dealerships have been foregoing this intense pressure game because of poor reviews from customers like you and I. Instead they are focusing more on you as the customer and your sale satisfaction. Now that’s what I’m talking about.

The first step in finding a trustworthy car dealership is to ask around for referrals. Ask family members, friends, and work associates whom they have worked with and had a good experience. They can also tell you places to avoid. If they mention a specific dealer, ask for which sales associate they worked with and ask for them by name when you go. In addition to asking people you know for referrals, turn to the internet world. With the ever popular social media and blogging you are bound to get some reviews on dealerships in and around your specific area.

A second tip is to give into the temptation to go to the closest dealership to your home. If you mention you live close by, they might view you as a neighbor which can help the relationship and possible transaction. That being said, it is always important to get multiple quotes so you make sure you are getting the best offer available.

A third tip is to narrow down your search to three dealerships and call each one up asking questions and looking to information. Take note to which one has the most knowledge, and answers all of your questions and concerns in a timely manner. I’m sure any of you reading this article could appreciate great customer service. I know I sure do.

A final note, is that you want to work with a dealership who has and can provide you with the proper documentation when you are buying a car. For instance if you have a trade in you will want documentation of a Seller’s Disclosure for Trade In Forms for Auto Dealers. I’m sure you already realize the importance of documentation and receipts in regard to large purchases but just a last tip to keep in mind when working with various dealers.
